Brazil wins int'l handball competition

RIO DE JANEIRO, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's national handball team on Sunday beat Russia 30-23 in their last pre-Pan-American Games competition.

Mexico's Pan-American team lost its last game to Spain 46-16. It lost all three of its games and finished last.

Brazil had beaten Spain's reserve team 36-30 in its opening game, and on Saturday it beat the Mexican team 35-12.
