Capinfo becomes Beijing 2008 Olympic Games multilingual service provider (photo attached)

(Beijing, June 15) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and Capinfo Company Limited (Capinfo) announced on Friday that Capinfo would be providing multilingual services for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Additionally, BOCOG announced that it would adopt the Olympics Multi-languages Intelligent Information Service System developed by Capinfo.

With this announcement, Yuan Bin, Director of BOCOG Marketing Department, stressed that over 200 countries and regions will be represented at the Olympic Games, through the numerous athletes, trainers, delegations, officials, reporters, and tourists that will be visiting Beijing from around the world. Communicating without language barriers will be a matter of interest to everyone. He stated that intelligent technology aimed at breaking language barriers is a dream shared by humankind and that such innovation plays an important role in helping to raise the quality of Beijing's service industry to the standards of major international cities. Through its information services, the Olympics Multi-languages Intelligent Information Service System will help China's worldwide guests overcome one type of language barrier.

Chen Xinxiang, Capinfo's Chairman, expressed that through "Olympics multi-languages services," Capinfo would service the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games with timely, expedient, and comprehensive multilingual translation. These services would be a contributive effort toward realizing a "High-tech Olympics." He also indicated that Capinfo would take advantage of this prime opportunity to implement across-the-board improvements in technology, service, quality, their brand, and other areas.

Following Beijing's successful Olympic bid in 2001, Capinfo worked with several dozen Chinese and foreign artificial intelligence research organizations to produce the self-innovative technology used in their Olympics Multi-languages Intelligent Information Service System, which will be used during the Olympic Games to offer the public timely, expedient, and comprehensive multilingual services.
