Beijing to showcase Olympic preparations in Moscow (photo attached)

(BEIJING, June 14) -- An exhibition under the theme of "New Beijing, Great Olympics" will be held in Moscow from June 27-29 to showcase Chinese culture and the preparatory work for the 2008 Olympic Games, according to a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.
The exhibition, planned to cover a space of 1,350 square meters, will comprise photographs, an Olympic venue sand box, Olympic licensed products, promo films and presentations, and feature Olympic mascots and other elements of the Olympics , said Yang Liuyin, director of the Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs Office.
He said the exhibition is one of a series of activities to be held during the "Beijing Week" in Moscow from June 27-30, the others being a visit by Mayor Wang Qishan, Chinese cultural performances, trade talks and tourism promotions.
The Week, a new feature in the bilateral relations between the pair of sister cities -- China's capital and its Russian counterpart, will be launched at an evening party at the Stanislavski Theater, where Wang Qishan and his counterpart Yuri Luzhkov will jointly open the Week on June 27.
As a key part of the "China Year" being held in Russia, the Beijing Week will enhance the understanding between the peoples of the two countries and promote the links between the two cities, Yang declared.
