(BEIJING, June 11) -- A six-week workshop to train Beijing's 1,700 health supervisors ended last Wednesday, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills for the Olympic test events and the next Summer Olympics.
The training course, sponsored by the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and the Beijing Municipal Health Bureau, covered all the key areas the health law-enforcement personnel need to be aware of. They include the conditions of the Olympic venues, basic knowledge about the Olympic Games and etiquette, food and drinking water safety, public place sanitation, infectious disease prevention and control, medical and health supervision and law-enforcement, as well as the investigation and treatment of public health emergencies.
The training was seen practical and useful, as it can help safeguard the public health during the Olympic Games.
On June 7, the Beijing TV Station aired a special program to highlight the training project.
